Seafood export expected to rise 10% in 2021

(CPV) – Thanks to trade agreements, Vietnam’s seafood export is forecast to increase by 10% in 2021, reaching more than 9.4 billion USD, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

However, in order help the seafood industry gain high export value, VASEP proposes the Government focus on restructuring the fisheries sector towards more sustainable development.

The functional branches regularly guide and create conditions for aquaculture farmers to meet clean production criteria.

By 2030, the industry targets 10 million tons of total domestic production, in which aquatic products exploiting output is about 25-30%. Aquaculture output will reach about 70-75% and seafood export value will hit 18-20 billion USD./.
