Seaports see cargo handling growth in January

In January 2021, despite the significant impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the seaport block still maintained good growth, with through-output of more than 62 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 17%.

Among them, container cargo reached more than 2.2 million TEU, up 27% against  the same period last year.

According to a representative of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association, in January 2020, aside from the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the volume of goods via sea was also affected by the shortage of space on cargo vessels and the lack of empty containers./.
