Southern city calls for investment in three logistics centers

In 2021, Ho Chi Minh City strives to complete the bidding to call for investment in the Logistics Center of the Hi-Tech Park. By 2023, it will complete the preparation for investment in Cat Lai Logistics Center and Linh Trung Logistics Center.

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has just issued a master plan to develop the logistics industry in the city until 2025, with an orientation to 2030.

Accordingly, the southern city targets the growth rate of revenue of logistics service of 15% by 2025, and the rate is expected to reach 20% by 2030. At the same time, the contribution proportion of logistics to the city’s GRDP will reach 10% by 2025 and 12% by 2030.

By 2025, the city will complete the establishment of a logistics digital map, a centralized data area and a centre for research and application of logistics technology.

It will establish and develop a logistics human resource training centre to develop HCM City into a national leader in training professional and high-quality human resources; and become a human resource training center for the whole region, capable of supplying human resources both nationally and internationally.

The plan is expected to contribute to reducing the ratio of national logistics costs compared to national GDP by about 10%-15%. The rate of outsourcing logistics services will reach 60% by 2025 and 70% by 2030./.
