Thai Nguyen to host OCOP fair

This information was released in a press conference held by the Trade Promotion Center for Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

According to the organizers, the fair will introduce products of communes, precincts and hi-tech agricultural products in order to honor Vietnam’s high-quality agricultural and fishery products.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, Deputy Director of the Thai Nguyen Department of Industry and Trade, said the event will offer opportunities for localities to promote and introduce their potential and strength in agriculture and green tourism, and new-style rural area building program.

The annual fair was hosted by Thai Nguyen province since 2016. Together with the “Vietnamese people prioritizing the use of Vietnamese goods” campaign, the event continues to exploit and awaken potential products of localities, being the premise for the implementation of OCOP program. 

It is a program of economic development in rural areas and is the solution and task in the implementation of the national target program on building new rural areas. The program focuses on the development of agricultural, non-agricultural and service-based products in each locality in the value chain./.
