Vietnamese cashew nuts occupy Chinese market

Cashew nuts imported from Vietnam into China increased sharply in turnover in the first 9 months of 2021, helping Vietnam gain share in the market of billions of people.

According to the Administration of China Customs, the country's cashew nut import turnover in September 2021 reached 22.24 million USD, up 17.7% from the previous month.

In the nine months, China’s cashew imports were valued at 125.84 million USD, up 23% over the same period last year.

China imported cashew nuts from Vietnam with a turnover of 110.88 million USD, up 28.7%. Vietnam’s cashew nut market share in China’s total import turnover increased from 84.17% in the first 9 months of 2020 to 88.12% during the same period of 2021.

Vietnamese cashew nuts in China enjoy increase in both turnover and market share compared to other suppliers: Togo, 4.6 million USD, accounting for 3.63%; Benin, 3.3 million, USD, 2.61%; Ivory Coast, 2.8 million USD, 2.23%; and Cambodia, 1.6 million USD, 1.23%./.
