According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Seoul, the fair aims to further promote the image of products and seek export opportunities for Vietnam’s high-quality agricultural products that are in harvest season but face difficulties in output due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Nguyen Vu Tung attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the fair, visited the Vietnamese booth and encouraged overseas Vietnamese businesses to actively promote import activities and widely distribute high-quality Vietnamese agricultural products and processed foods in the RoK.

The event is annually organized by the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea, and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and other embassies in the RoK.

This year’s fair has a scale of about 200 booths, held under offline and online types. It attracted the participation of businesses from about 40 countries and territories around the world.

The RoK is Vietnam’s third largest trading partner after China (133 billion USD) and the US (90.7 billion USD), with a total import-export turnover of 66 billion USD in 2020, including 19.1 billion USD of exports and 46.9 billion USD of imports.

Exports of agricultural and aquatic products and processed foods to the market in 2020 reached 1.2 billion USD, accounting for 4.1% of the total import value of this item of the RoK./.
