The draft law on amendments and supplements of laws on business and investment drew attention from Cabinet members at the Government’s regular meeting in Hanoi on August 1st.

Illegal waste dumping prosecuted in Ha Tinh province

The Ha Tinh provincial Police on August 2nd announced a decision to prosecute the case relating to Ky Anh Urban Environment Company for illegally burying some 100 tonnes of waste from Formosa in a farm.

Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee on August 2nd presided over a meeting on the architecture of a house to display objects related to the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.
Seven months: Rice export valued at USD1.32 billion

Exported rice volume in July 2016 was estimated to reach 274,000 tonnes, worth USD120 million, bringing the figures from the start of the year to USD2.93 million tonnes, valued at USD1.32 billion, down 18.4% in volume and 14.4% in value over a year earlier, reported the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Overseas remittances to southern city hit USD2.5 billion

Overseas remittances to Ho Chi Minh city were estimated to reach USD2.5 billion so far this year, a year-on-year rise of 4.16%, said Mr. Nguyen Hoang Minh, Deputy Director of the city-based State Bank of Vietnam (SBV).
