During the presenting ceremony, Youk Sambath, Secretary of State under the Cambodian Ministry of Health, representing the Cambodian Government and people, sent regards to Ho Chi Minh City, curently the locality worst affected by COVID-19, saying that the gifts are evidence of the time-honoured friendship and solidarity between Cambodia and Vietnam, nurtured by generations of leaders and peoples of both countries.

She also expressed her hope that the Vietnamese city will promptly control the pandemic for stabilizing people’s lives and resuming production.

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Duong Anh Duc thanked Prime Minister Samdech Hunsen, the Royal Government and people of Cambodia for their support of Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular. “The city commits to transparently and wisely allocate the gifts,” he said.

He added that he believed the two countries would succeed in controlling the pandemic for resuming economic and trade cooperation, and further strengthening the neighbourly relationship./.
