The cooperation deal was signed by Chairman of the Da Nang city People’s Committee Huynh Duc Tho and Mayor of the Australian city Tom Tate during an online ceremony on June 11th.

According to Mr. Huynh Duc Tho, Gold Coast is a model city for urban development, with many strengths in developing education, training, health, trade, investment and tourism. It shares similarities with the development orientation of Da Nang city in the near future. Furthermore, the Vietnamese city is aiming to build a smart city, in which it can learn experience from Gold Coast city in transportation, housing, planning and urban areas. Therefore, the Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee hoped to learn and receive assistance from the Australian city.

Congratulating Da Nang city for its impressive development, Mr. Tom Tate highlighted that the two cities are both coastal, young and dynamic cities with many similarities in development orientation.

Therefore, the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of friendship and cooperation is extremely important in specifying the relationship and cooperation between the two sides, towards supporting and helping each other for development./.
