On March 18, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh received the Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, Park Noh-wan, to discuss some issues on promoting bilateral cooperation.

The Korean ambassador added that in recent years, many large Korean enterprises have actively implemented large projects in Hanoi City under the support and facilitation of the capital authority.

Emphasizing that Hanoi City plays a very important role in the cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea, the Ambassador proposed to soon organize a dialogue between the Hanoi authority and Korean businesses to find plans to promote bilateral cooperation, creating opportunities for businesses to share recommendations and difficulties, so that Korean businesses can further contribute positively to the development of Hanoi. Regarding smart urban development, towards the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2022, Ambassador Park Noh-wan said he looked forward to cooperating with Hanoi City in implementing a pilot urban area project before expanding the model to other localities.

On the basis of a strategic cooperation partnership and a deepening friendship, Hanoi City People's Committee Chairman Chu Ngoc Anh expressed his hope that the two countries would strengthen their relationship, especially on solutions after COVID-19.

Looking at a few features of the cooperation process between Hanoi and Korean localities, he evaluated many Korean enterprises' projects associated with Hanoi’s urbanization process.

Besides trade and investment promotion efforts, many bilateral exchange and cooperation activities, especially between the two capitals Hanoi and Seoul, have been active. On the 25th anniversary of the friendship and cooperation between the two capitals, the two sides actively contacted and proposed cultural exchange and investment promotion activities.

He also suggested the Ambassador increase support to create connection channels between businesses, working together remove difficulties for enterprises of the two countries to promote investment, giving priority to attracting investment in supporting, biological, and environment-friendly technology; sharing experiences and transferring technology in issues that Hanoi capital is interested in such as urban traffic, environment and water resource management.

“Hanoi also commits to strongly focus on administrative reform, remove difficulties and problems, and create favorable conditions for businesses, including Korean ones,” he added./.
