Hanoi wishes to cooperate with Thai businesses in urban infrastructure

Hanoi, a special urban area, is in the process of rapid urbanization and increased population, which requires authorities to make greater efforts to satisfy residents’ demands, especially in addressing difficulties in daily lives, environmental quality and urban traffic.

So said Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue during a farewell meeting for Thai Ambassador to Vietnam Tanee Sangrat on September 23.

During the meeting, Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated the contributions made by the Ambassador and the Embassy of Thailand in Hanoi in developing the relationship between Vietnam and Thailand, as well as between Hanoi and other Thai localities over the past time.

According to Mr. Hue, Hanoi needs to ensure conservation in development, especially for historical and cultural values, during its building of the city into a green, smart and modern city. He confirmed that Hanoi welcomed and wished to cooperate with experienced Thai investors and enterprises in solving major urban infrastructure problems, expressing his hope that the two countries would increase preparations for promoting economic, trade and tourism activities as soon as international flights were re-established.

Ambassador Tanee Sangrat expressed his pleasure and pride in his working tenure, during which he had the opportunity to coordinate with the Hanoi city authority to organize many events, including the Thailand Festival in August 2019, attracting to 45,000 visitors.

Highly appreciating the economic and social achievements of Hanoi, he emphasized that the success in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic has brought trust to members of diplomatic missions living and working in Hanoi.

The Thai Ambassador also expressed his impression at the results of the landscape embellishment activities that Hanoi had carried out in the past time, saying that this work had significantly improved quality of life for people in the capital, including foreign diplomats and Thai Embassy staff./.
