Ho Chi Minh city increases investment cooperation with RoK

Expressing his happiness with the increasingly developed relationship between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK), Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen said that at the local level, the cooperation between the city and RoK was dynamic in economics, trade and tourism.

He made the statement during his reception for new Korean Ambassador Park Noh Wan on December 22.

During the reception, he added he hoped that after the COVID-19 pandemic was controlled, the RoK and Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh city, would promote increased investment cooperation in information technology, human resource training, building of creative urban area, waste water and waste treatment projects, and reform of investment environment. “These are areas in which the city is calling for investment and that are RoK’s strengths,” he went on to say.

He also showed his desire that the Korean Ambassador would call on Korean investors and businesses to invest in the southwestern region; and coordinate and exchange experience in the building of the Long Thanh Airport according to the international airport model.

Mr. Park Noh Wan thanked the city for supporting the activities of the Korean Consulate and businesses in the city, saying that with its experience, the RoK would share with the Vietnamese side to operate and develop the Long Thanh airport into an international airport.

According to Ambassador Park Noh Wan, many Korean businesses want to learn about investment and implementation of projects in the Central region, the Mekong Delta, and the Mekong River. “Recently, the Vietnamese and Korean Governments agreed on a short-term entry process to expand investment opportunities between the two countries,” he said./.
