Israel donates ventilators to support Vietnam’s COVID-19 fight

On September 13, the Israeli Embassy in Vietnam said that Israeli Ambassador Nadav Eshcar had symbolically presented the donation of 10 ventilators, oxygen generators, N95 masks, and disinfected nylon to support Vietnam's prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The activity belonged to the framework of cooperation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic of the two countries, following a phone call between Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on July 12. The two sides aim to coordinate in many areas for post-pandemic recovery.

During the presenting ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Hieu and Ambassador Nadav Eshcar expressed their pleasure at the positive developments in the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Israel over the past time.

The two sides agreed to continue implementing the results achieved in the phone call between Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on July 12, especially speeding up negotiations and the signing of the Vietnam-Israel Free Trade Agreement, and the early start of negotiations on a labor cooperation agreement between the two countries, strengthening investment promotion activities and two-way trade, scientific cooperation - technology, towards sustainable recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Deputy Minister Pham Quang Hieu reiterated the proposal of the two sides to strengthen cooperation in COVID-19 prevention and control; adding he hoped that Israel will give priority to assisting Vietnam in accessing COVID-19 vaccines and drugs through appropriate forms of cooperation.

Israeli Ambassador Nadav Eshcar expressed his belief that the Government and people of Vietnam will soon control the COVID-19 pandemic, recover and develop the economy in the near future./.
