Mexican ambassador praised for promoting cooperative relations with Vietnam

(CPV) - Since coming to Vietnam to assume her responsibilities, Mexican Ambassador Sarah Valdez Bolano has constantly made efforts to maintain and promote the cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Mexico in many fields, from politics-diplomacy to foreign policy, trade, economy, education, culture, local cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

On November 23, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) held a ceremony to award the “For peace and friendship among nations” insignia to Mexican Ambassador to Vietnam Sarah Valdez Bolano on the occasion of the end of her term of office.

Speaking at the ceremony, VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga emphasized that since coming to Vietnam to take on this important responsibility, Ambassador Sarah Valdez Bolano has constantly made efforts to maintain and promote the cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Mexico in many fields, from politics-diplomacy to foreign policy, trade, economy, education, culture, local cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

In the field of economy and trade, the Ambassador actively promoted the concretization of cooperation between the two countries in various fields through the signing of a number of bilateral cooperation documents such as the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the Joint Commission on Economics, Trade and Investment Cooperation between the Mexican Ministry of Economy and the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2016 and the Cooperation Agreement between the Mexican Business Council on foreign trade, investment and technology and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2019.

The Ambassador also paid special attention to people-to-people exchanges and cooperation activities, helping the Vietnamese people understand and feel closer to the Mexican country and people, thereby enhancing the friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries in various fields. “The image of the friendly ambassador at various activities has left us with very good impressions,” said Ms Nga.

The VUFO President expressed her confidence that in the coming time, regardless of position, the Ambassador will continue to pay attention and make positive contributions to the friendship and cooperation relationship between the people of Vietnam and Mexico.

On behalf of the VUFO Presidium, VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga presented the “For peace and friendship among nations” insignia to Ambassador Sarah Valdez Bolano. This is the highest award of the VUFO in order to recognize and honor the Ambassador's valuable contributions in consolidating and enhancing the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Mexico.

Expressing her pleasure to attend the meaningful ceremony and honor at receiving the noble award of the VUFO, Ambassador Sarah Valdez Bolano said she was extremely grateful and honored to have met friendly and hospitable Vietnamese people, and to have lived and worked in the beautiful country of Vietnam for the past 6 years.

In recent years, Mexico and Vietnam have both attached great importance to international cooperation activities, as well as people-to-people exchanges between the two countries; especially cultural and art exchange activities between students, artists and scientists of the two countries. All these activities contribute to further strengthening the friendship between the two peoples./.
