Morocco to make breakthroughs in cooperation with Vietnam

On the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Morocco (March 27), President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Nguyen Phuong Nga and Moroccan Ambassador to Vietnam, Jamale Chouaibi, exchanged congratulatory letters.

In the congratulatory letter the Moroccan Ambassador to Vietnam Jamale Chouaibi sent to VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga, the Ambassador expressed his delight to see the bilateral relationship between the two countries developing steadily over the past 60 years, as demonstrated through high-level visits, mutual help in international forums, and increased commercial, academic and people-to-people exchanges.

"I am confident that with mutual efforts and commitments, the cooperative relationship between Morocco and Vietnam will be increasingly strengthened and expanded in many fields for the mutual benefit of the two nations’ people," he emphasized.

On this occasion, the Moroccan Ambassador to Vietnam also sent VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga, the Vietnam - Africa Friendship and Cooperation Association, and the members of VUFO, sincere thanks for their efforts and constant contributions in promoting the friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries.

On the same day, VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga, on behalf of the VUFO and the Vietnam - Africa Friendship and Cooperation Association, exchanged congratulatory letters with the High Commissioner for Former Members of the Resistance Movement and the Liberation Army of the Kingdom of Morocco, Chairman of the Morocco-Vietnam Friendship Association, Mr. El Mostafa El Ktiri.

In his congratulatory letter, Mr. El Mostafa El Ktiri stated that March 27, 1961 marked a milestone in the history between Vietnam and Morocco, when the two countries established bilateral diplomatic relations. Since then, the relationship between the peoples of the two countries has continuously been fostered.

The representative of the Morocco-Vietnam Friendship Association also reviewed history when a large number of Moroccan soldiers who were forced to join the French Army to fight in Indochina (1946-1954) left the ranks of the French army to join the Viet Minh movement, in order to wage the heroic struggle against colonialism.

“This joint struggle has written the close historical memory between Morocco and Vietnam. It is a memory that needs to be preserved and spread to today's and future young generations, in order to motivate young people to overcome challenges, contribute to the socio-economic development of each country and build a world of peace, justice, solidarity and tolerance,” he wrote in the letter.

Referring to the historical works symbolic for the friendship and solidarity between the Moroccan and Vietnamese people the Moroccan Gate - "Porte du Morocco" and the project to build the Vietnamese gate in the style of Vietnamese architecture near the city of Kénitra (Morocco), Chairman of the Moroccan-Vietnam Friendship Association affirmed his firm stance in continuing to implement breakthrough efforts and initiatives, in order to provide more and more specific cooperation contents, bringing a better relationship for our two countries./.
