He highly appreciated Pfizer Company for handing over more than 2.8 million doses of vaccine to Vietnam according to the supply contract signed with the Government of Vietnam, timely making an important contribution to Vietnam in its efforts to control the disease, as well as committing to ensuring the supply plan in the remaining months of this year.

He emphasized that ensuring an adequate source of vaccines is not only vital to people's health, but also helps ensure stability and socio-economic development in Vietnam; avoid disrupting production supply chains, creating favorable conditions for production and business activities of enterprises, including US enterprises.

As a result, he suggested that Pfizer pay attention to and promote the increase in the number of Pfizer vaccines provided to Vietnam as early as September 2021 and delivered in 2021 under the contract of 31 million vaccine doses signed by the two sides; soon concretize the roadmap for the earliest delivery of vaccines to children aged 12-18 and soon complete the approval procedures so that other countries such as Poland can quickly cede the Pfizer vaccine to Vietnam when Vietnam reaches an agreement to buy Pfizer vaccines from these countries.

Pfizer Vice President Jonathan Selib said that Pfizer always has a good cooperative relationship with Vietnam, committing to provide Vietnam with 31 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine for adults this year, and 20 million vaccine doses for children when Pfizer has sufficient data on efficacy and safety. In addition, Mr. Jonathan Selib also acknowledged the request for cooperation in vaccine production and will quickly implement procedures for Vietnam to receive the vaccine from Poland.

Pfizer welcomed the recent US establishment of a regional CDC office in Vietnam on the occasion of Vice President Kamala Harris' visit to Vietnam, demonstrating the US's confidence in Vietnam's disease prevention capabilities, and will together with this office work closely with Vietnam in efforts to prevent epidemics./.
