Presenting 20,000 face masks to Mozambican Interior Ministry

Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Son, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations under Ministry of Public Security, on September 16 presented 20,000 antibacterial face masks from the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to the Mozambican Ministry of Interior via Mozambique's Ambassador to Vietnam Leonardo Rosario Manuel Pene.

With the increasingly complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic in the African country, “the practical and sincere support from the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security has actually deepened the traditional close relationship between Governments and people of the two countries in general, between Mozambique’s Ministry of Interior and Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security in particular", said Ambassador Leonardo Rosario Manuel Pene.

He also said that the number of COVID-19 cases in Mozambique has reached 5,000 people, along with the same number of people undergoing quarantine and 35 deaths. The government of Mozambique will strengthen traceability and conduct rapid testing in the community to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

At the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Son also handed over the letter from Vietnamese Minister of Public Security To Lam to the Mozambican Minister of Interior.

"With the efforts of the Government and the consensus of the people, together with help of international friends, Mozambique will soon overcome the pandemic. After the pandemic is controlled, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of Mozambique will soon deploy cooperation activities between the two sides,” shared Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Son.

In addition, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam will support the Mozambican Embassy to Vietnam to complete procedures to early transfer medical supplies donated by Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security to Mozambique to promptly assist the country to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic./.
