Vietnam and China agree to set up exchange channels on preventing COVID-19

In the treatment strategy for COVID-19 patients, both Vietnam and China have focused on treating severe patients, including sending experts to areas with severe patients. The two sides have agreed to establish channels for exchanging experience and learning from each other in the near future for further effective cooperation.

On September 9, Vietnam's Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long had online talks with Minister Ma Xiaowei, Chairman of the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China, on a number of issues related to COVID-19 prevention and control.

At the talks, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long thanked the Government and people of China for their valuable support to the Government and people of Vietnam in the fight against the pandemic.

Ministers Nguyen Thanh Long and Ma Xiaowei together with experts exchanged and shared strategies in pandemic prevention of the two countries, including professional and technical solutions, especially large-scale tests.

The Chinese side exchanged and shared valuable lessons on the model of organizing testing on a large scale, ensuring test quality. Like Vietnam, China also conducts active surveillance in high-risk areas such as medical facilities, and entry and exit areas, and takes samples for testing people working in these areas.

The two sides also shared experiences in classifying and organizing treatment of COVID-19 patients. In the treatment strategy, both Vietnam and China focus on treating severe patients, sending specialists to areas with severe patients.

At the meeting, Minister Ma Xiaowei said that since the COVID-19 pandemic occurred, the two sides had exchanged and shared on issues related to epidemic prevention. In the context of the complicated development of the pandemic, he added that the talks between the two sides were very meaningful in sharing information about experiences related to COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control./.
