The rice is expected to be transported to Laos by December 5.

On behalf of Savanakhet province, Director of the Savanakhet provincial Department of Labour and Social Welfare Bun Lope thanked the Vietnamese Party, State, Government and people for the practical gift, which will ease the difficulties facing local people after devastating natural disasters.

The event shows the close special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, especially as Vietnamese central localities are suffering from serious successive natural disasters and the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This also marks one of the most profound political events ahead of the 43rd meeting of the Vietnam – Laos Inter-governmental Committee.

Mr. Bun Lope confirmed that the Lao side would allocate the rice properly at the earliest possible time./.
