The visit took place on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Xuan La and the 57th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh and DPRK leader Kim Il-sung's visit to the Vietnam - DPRK cooperative in Hanoi (November 23).

Mr. Nguyen Van Ngu, head of the management board of the memorial, said that on November 23, 1958, Uncle Ho visited the cooperative and realized that Xuan La's model of work was effective. He then discussed with the DPRK side and invited them to visit.

During the visit, President Ho Chi Minh, President Kim Il-sung, the delegation and relatives in the cooperative watched the operation of the machines.

The gifts from the DPRK made the Vietnam - DPRK Friendship Cooperative the first cooperative in the North to have plows, tractors, and cars which were considered the most modern at that time.

In 1995, the Xuan La ward Party Committee and authority erected a memorial stele for the event that Uncle Ho visited Xuan La twice. In 2012, the Hanoi People's Committee decided to attach a signboard to commemorate the event of Uncle Ho's visit to Xuan La.

In 2018, local people invited artisans to sculpt two photos of Uncle Ho visiting Xuan La in 1958 and a photo of Uncle Ho and DPRK leader Kim Il-sung visiting the cooperative in 1964 into a rock painting.

Speaking at the event, Chargé d'Affaires of the DPRK Embassy in Vietnam Ri Ho Jun said he was moved by the love of the people and Xuan La ward for the DPRK people and country, especially President Kim Il Sung.
