Vietnam grants to Cambodia 50,000 masks to prevent COVID-19

The Vietnamese representatives have handed over 50,000 masks to the Cambodian side to join hands in assisting this country to prevent and fight COVID-19 amid its most serious infection wave so far.

The masks, from the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Commission on External Relations to the Committees of the Cambodian People’s Party, were presented to the Cambodian side on March 24 at the Moc Bai - Bavet international border gate.

At the ceremony, Mr. Pham Viet Hung, First Secretary of the Vietnam Embassy in Cambodia, as authorized by the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Commission on External Relations, handed over 50,000 masks to Mr. Kem Sambath, member of the Cambodian People’s Party Central Committee, and Deputy Head of the Cambodian People’s Party External Relations Committee.

Mr. Kem Sambath expressed his sincere gratitude for the Vietnamese side's love and precious help for Cambodia, and highly appreciated the neighborly relationship of solidarity and mutual assistance between the two countries, especially the brotherly relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the People's Party of Cambodia.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vietnamese Party, Government and the authorities at all levels have organized many donations to Cambodia, of various types of medical equipment, protective equipment and food to support the country in the fight against the pandemic.

On this occasion, the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Commission of External Relations also gave 30,000 masks to the Vietnamese community in Cambodia, actively contributing to joining the Cambodian Government and people in fighting the pandemic./.
