Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Truong Quoc Cuong emphasized that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a serious impact on almost all aspects of the social life of countries, disrupting economic and social activities. Many countries have to implement strict blockade measures to prevent the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic requires the efforts of all countries to join hands to fight the disease.

He expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the support of the Hungarian Government, organizations and businesses through projects to strengthen the capacity of the grassroots and specialized health systems, provide equipment and pharmaceuticals to contribute to improving the quality of medical service delivery in Vietnam.
“In particular the Hungarian Government’s support with vaccines and rapid test kits is a noble gesture that proves the long-term friendship and the enduring friendship that has been recognized by many generations,” he said. “The relationship between the two countries has been fostered over the past 70 years.”
According to the Deputy Minister, the Ministry of Health will work closely with agencies to ensure the allocation of this valuable number of vaccines and rapid test kits to units and localities based on the actual situation, to meet the requirements for urgent epidemic prevention and control, ensuring suitability and effectiveness.
At the ceremony, the Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam shared that Vietnam and Hungary have a traditional and friendly relationship, and have now gone through more than 70 years of cooperation. In recent years, the two countries have shared and helped each other in difficult times.
"We thank Vietnam in the early stages of fighting the pandemic for supporting Hungary with masks and some pandemic prevention equipment," said the Ambassador.
Also at the ceremony, the ambassador also discussed and exchanged with leaders of the Ministry of Health about cooperation in the field of research and development of vaccines and biological products, as well as possible phase 3 clinical trials with the Nanocovax vaccine researched and developed by Nanogen.
Previously, this batch of vaccines and rapid testing kits had arrived in Vietnam and was transported to the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology for storage./.
