Vietnamese ministry presents 100 ventilators to India

On May 11, Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications and President of the Vietnam - India Friendship Association Nguyen Manh Hung presented 100 ventilators to Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Pranay Verma, to support Indian people in preventing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Amid the complicated ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the presentation ceremony was held online. At the ceremony, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung shared his deep sympathy for the difficulties and efforts of the Government and people of India in the prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic, reaffirming the friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and India, especially in the current difficult epidemic context.

In the context of a serious pandemic outbreak in India, the Vietnam - India Friendship Association has mobilized 100 ventilators from Vingroup for the Indian people, with a total value of more than VND10 billion. The ventilators are designed and manufactured by Vingroup.

Ambassador Pranay Verma said that the noble gesture of the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam - India Friendship Association is a very timely sharing, showing the friendly cooperation, a good tradition, between Vietnam and India in the fight against the pandemic. “India will appreciate and use the ventilators effectively,” he asserted.

The ventilators will be quickly delivered by air to the Indian Red Cross to promptly assist Indians during the COVID-19 pandemic./.
