WHO to continue to deliver COVID-19 vaccines to Vietnam: WHO representative

As the co-leader of the COVAX Facility, the World Health Organization (WHO) has been working closely with the Government of Vietnam to ensure vaccine supply. So far, Vietnam has received nearly 7.5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. In the coming weeks, WHO will continue to ship more batches of vaccines to Vietnam to help the Government protect people's lives.

Speaking on VOV about the plan to support Vietnam in implementing the COVID-19 vaccine strategy, Dr. Kidong Park, WHO Representative in Vietnam, said that WHO has been working closely with the Government of Vietnam and WHO will continue to work with Vietnam to release the latest scientific data, from which the Government of Vietnam can make effective decisions to respond to the pandemic.
So far, Vietnam has received nearly 7.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine through COVAX, including more than 5 million doses of Moderna and nearly 2.5 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine.
According to Dr. Kidong Park, in the coming weeks, WHO will continue to ship more batches of vaccines to Vietnam to help the Vietnamese Government protect people's lives.
In addition, WHO is also supporting Vietnam in planning vaccination campaigns, training and monitoring compliance with regulations, and ensuring safety during vaccination in difficult-to-reach areas; and in evaluation of the effectiveness of the current vaccination campaign.
At the same time, WHO also provides technical support to Vietnam to help strengthen the capacity of Vietnam's vaccine management system, including guiding research and development of vaccines against COVID-19./.
