Of these, 351 communes met the standards of advanced new-style rural areas and 38 communes met the standards of model rural areas.

As many as 192 district-level units in 51 provinces and centrally-run cities were recognized by the Prime Minister for completing the tasks and standards of new-style rural areas. In addition, 12 provinces have 100% of communes meeting the standards of new-style rural areas.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the report proposing investment policy for the National Target Program on building new-style rural areas in the 2021-2025 period has not yet been approved by the National Assembly.

At the same time, central budget capital for 2021 has not been assigned by the Prime Minister; so many localities are still confused in balancing capital sources to support the implementation of the Program’s objectives, especially those facing difficult economic conditions and dependent on capital support from the central budget.

In the second half of the year, the Ministry will focus on directing provinces and cities to actively balance local budget capital at all levels, as well as mobilizing other legal resources outside the budget to realize the contents and tasks of the Program.

It will also coordinate with the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies and a number of relevant agencies to propose and develop a number of credit policies to support the implementation of the Program./.
