Hanoi attracts over 3 billion FDI capital in 11 months

(CPV) – Hanoi lured about 3.2 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) from January to November 2020, making up 12% of total FDI registered capital in Vietnam so far this year, according to the city Statistics Office.

This figure made the capital the third largest FDI destination in the country during the period.

Of this, the city granted 662 million USD in 464 new projects, while over 1.24 billion USD was added to 132 existing ones. Foreign investors also spent 1.28 billion USD on contributing capital to or purchasing shares of local enterprises.

The capital continued to create favorable conditions and support investors in the spirit of companionship and sharing difficulties.

Particularly, in November, Hanoi granted licenses to 26 new FDI projects worth 7 million USD, including 24 projects with 100% foreign direct investment capital; and 2 joint venture and partnership projects.

In addition, 6 projects registered for an additional capital of 1 million USD, while foreign investors spent 52 million USD contributing capital to or purchasing shares of local enterprises./.
