(CPV) - Although the room occupancy rate in the second quarter of 2021 was only 27%, the Hanoi hotel market is still holding on during the COVID-19 epidemic. Despite the epidemic, this year, the market will still welcome more investors in all segments.

This is the comment of Mr. Matthew Powell, Director of Savills Hanoi (belonging to Savills Global Real Estate Group based in the UK), in Savills Vietnam’s market report for the first half of 2021.

According to statistics, the average hotel room price in Hanoi is 77 USD/room/night, up 1% quarter on quarter but down 9% year on year. The market’s supply remained stable quarter on quarter with 10,120 rooms from 17 5-star hotels, 17 4-star hotels and 32 3-star hotels.

In which, 5-star hotels account for 54% of the supply and lead with an average room revenue of 28 USD/room/night, thanks to the main group of guests being businesses and long-stay guests.

As of the end of the second quarter, five 3-star hotels providing 315 rooms are temporarily closed due to COVID-19 and for repair. In addition, 10 hotels from 3 to 5 stars have been selected as quarantine locations./.
