Hanoi to spend 39.4 trillion VND on Tet goods

(CPV) - Hanoi has built plans to increase the amount of essential goods for Tet (Lunar New Year) 2021 by 7-22% compared to last Tet, with abundant goods supply basically meeting people’s consumption needs.

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Tran Phuong Lan made this comment at a press conference held on December 29 to announce information about ensuring supply and demand of goods, stabilizing the market and ensuring food safety and hygiene during Tet 2021.

So far, 25 production and business units of Hanoi and 2 credit institutions have registered to participate in the program to bring price-stabilized goods to local people through 12,443 selling sites; including 142 supermarkets, 1,351 convenience stores, 7,680 grocery stores, and 1,438 stores at markets.

During the three months before, during and after Tet, the demand for essential goods in the city is expected to be about 292,500 tons of rice; 56,700 tons of pork; 18,900 tons of chicken; 18,459 tons of beef; nearly 400 million poultry eggs; and 315,000 tons of vegetables.

The city estimates it will spend 39.4 trillion VND on Tet goods, an increase of 5% against last year./.
