(CPV) - So far, Vietnam has not opened to international tourists, thus, the number of foreigners to Hanoi during this time is low, mainly experts and workers staying in other localities.
The capital welcomed 2.9 million tourists in the first half of the year, the majority of them being domestic visitors, a year-on-year decrease of 25%, according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism.

In June 2021, the average occupancy rate of 1-5 star hotels is estimated at 25.7%, down 0.7% from the previous month and down 3.5% from the same period last year. For the first 6 months of the year, the figure is 24%, down 7.8% from the same period last year.
Despite facing many difficulties due to the COVID-19 outbreak, in the 6 months, the city tourism industry also performed a number of important tasks. Among them, the highlight is the restructuring of new tourism products with the focus on domestic tourists, such as: Night tour around Thang Long Imperial Citadel; tourism products of folk experiences at the Museum of Ethnology; and experience tour at Hoa Lo Prison relic.
In addition, the Hanoi Department of Tourism has advised and submitted to the city People’s Committee for approval the concept design documents of a tourist sign system, brand identity kit and tourism logo of craft village and gifts.
It also successfully organized a conference to build products to stimulate domestic tourism with the participation of hundreds of transport units, travel agencies, hotels, tourist sites/areas in the city./.
