(CPV) - According to the Hanoi City Department of Culture and Sports, diverse cultural and sports activities will take place in the capital city to celebrate the 68th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – 2022).

The opening ceremony of the 10th Hanoi Physical Training and Sports Festival is scheduled to take place at 8p.m on October 7 at the Hanoi Athletics Palace in Nam Tu Liem District. It will draw the participation of 5,500 people.
As of September 30, all 30 districts, towns, units, branches, unions, agencies, factories, schools, and armed forces in Hanoi have successfully organized grassroots level sports festivals.
The Hanoi Open Dragon Boat Race 2022 will take place on West Lake on October 9, with the participation of more than 500 athletes from 36 men's and women's teams.
An exhibition creating the glorious fighting journey of the army and people of Hanoi during the arduous years of the resistance wars against the colonists and imperialists will be organized by the Management Board of Hoa Lo Prison Relics on this occasion.
On this occasion, the Hanoi City Department of Culture and Sports will also organize the "Hanoi - Development Aspiration" Art Photo Contest 2022 to celebrate the 68th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day and the 50th anniversary of the Victory "Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air” (December 18, 1972 - December 18, 2022).
Photos highlight typical values of Hanoi's culture and has a clear message and a new and unique perspective on Hanoi Capital - the City of “Culture - Civilization - Modernity" in tradition, integration and development with a long history; beautiful nature; heroic people in combat, intellectual industriousness in productive labor, elegance in communication and behavior. Entries will be presented in the form of single and set photos. Works can be sent from now until November 15, 2022; the awarding ceremony and exhibition of the winning works in December 2022.
In addition, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports will coordinate with districts and towns in Hanoi to hold a wide range of art programmes in celebration of the 68th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day./.
