At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Chu Xuan Dung presented a report on cooperation results between Hanoi city and Quang Tri province over the past 2 years from June 14, 2019.
He said that the two localities have been interested in creating favorable conditions for investors to study and research investment in Hanoi, as well as focus on key projects that Quang Tri province is calling for investment. Up to now, 17 projects of Hanoi investors have been granted investment policies and 8 projects are being researched, surveyed and proposed, with a total investment capital of about 72,746 million VND.
Hanoi businesses that are investing and doing business in Quang Tri province have coordinated to provide vocational training and create jobs for rural workers in Quang Tri province. In particular, Hanoi has actively carried out activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2022).
Mr. Chu Xuan Dung said in the coming time, Hanoi and Quang Tri will step up cooperation in areas such as Party and political system building, planning, support and investment promotion, agriculture and commerce.
In addion, Hanoi also supports Quang Tri province to implement the project of mobilizing resources to build new houses for poor households in Quang Tri province for the period of 2022-2026, Mr. Dung said.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vo Van Hung, Chairman of the Quang Tri provincial People's Committee, briefly introduced to the delegation the socio-economic development situation as well as the potentials, strengths, and projects calling for investment of the province.
He expressed high agreement with the content of cooperation on 7 fields of the two localities in the coming time. The agricultural sector of Quang Tri province accounts for a large proportion. Therefore, he hoped that Hanoi would pay attention to support the consumption of agricultural products for Quang Tri with the spirit of "Hanoi people use Quang Tri products", as well as help the province to transfer highly efficient agricultural production models such as raising BBB beef, organic rice, medicinal herbs, etc.
On behalf of the leaders of Hanoi city, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong said that Hanoi is willing to share experiences with Quang Tri province in socio-economic development, as well as in all fields of strength. In which, it is noteworthy to develop clean agriculture and high-tech agriculture to increase product value.
Along with that, the two sides can coordinate to organize cultural and economic events of Quang Tri in Hanoi; and promote cooperation between the press agencies of the two localities to exchange information, thereby helping the people of the two localities better understand their history and culture, he said.
According to him, the two localities can cooperate to organize tours, thereby contributing to educating the young generation about the national tradition.
Regarding investment promotion, Mr. Phong suggested that the two localities promote further cooperation because Hanoi is a large market, so the purchasing and consumption power of Quang Tri province's products are very large.
“Hanoi and Quang Tri province are linked for many reasons, but one important reason is that many Hanoians were sacrificed on historic Quang Tri land. Therefore, Hanoi wants Quang Tri province to create conditions to renovate and upgrade Hanoi Martyrs' Tomb Area at Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery," he suggested.
On this occasion, Hanoi presents scholarships, gifts and bicycles to 50 poor children with good study results in Quang Tri province with a total budget of 145 million VND; giving five gifts to five families with revolutionary contribution of Quang Tri province, each worth 2.5 million VND; and supporting 3 billion VND to carry out social security in Quang Tri province./.
