Hanoi in list of top sought-after destinations by Vietnamese tourists

Data from the Booking.com platform shows that beach tourism is still the top choice for Vietnamese tourists this summer. Da Nang is the most searched domestic destination by Vietnamese tourists in the summer of 2023, followed by Nha Trang and Phu Quoc. The coastal cities included in this list also include Ha Long, Vung Tau, and Hoi An.

In addition to seeking out experiences with the sea, Vietnamese tourists are also interested in big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as more peaceful destinations like Da Lat or Hue. Notably, Hanoi rose 4 places to rank 7th in the list of 10 domestic destinations most searched by Vietnamese tourists for the summer of 2023, after being absent from the top 10 of last summer.

Vietnamese tourists are also paying a lot of attention to foreign travel, as many international destinations have skyrocketed in rankings in the top 10 most sought-after international destinations by Vietnamese tourists for the summer of 2023. Bangkok is the top favorite international destination of Vietnamese tourists for this summer, followed by Singapore and Paris. In this list, there are also Tokyo (up 19 places), Seoul (up 10 places) and New York (up 54 places).

According to Booking.com's Travel Forecast 2023, 78% of Vietnamese travelers believe summer is the best time to travel. Although travelers are apprehensive about the global economic situation, they have no intention of giving up their travel plans. Instead, travelers should consider allocating their travel budget more carefully, by taking advantage of offers, travel tips and wiser timing of travel, and prioritizing the use of discounts and loyalty customer programs./.
