Hanoi opens Le Van Luong - Belt Road No. 3 tunnel to traffic

(CPV) - On October 5, the Hanoi City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board opened the Le Van Luong - Belt Road No. 3 tunnel to traffic in the morning of October 5, part of the city's moves to address traffic congestion.

The event was held to celebrate the 68th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2022)

Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung and leaders cut the ribbon to inaugurate Le Van Luong underground tunnel.
 
 
 
The 475m tunnel, the fourth of its kind in the city, is located at the intersection of Le Van Luong, Khuat Duy Tien and To Huu streets. It is one of the city’s key transport works. 
With a total investment of nearly 700 billion VND (29.3 million USD), construction on this tunnel started on October 2, 2020. 

 

the tunnel is designed to have 4 lanes and a total length of about 890m. 
The tunnel is hoped to reduce traffic jam at the intersection, one of the worst in Hanoi
