Mr. Dung affirmed that the special relationship between Vietnam and Cuba, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and leader Fidel Castro, is an invaluable asset that the Party, State and people of the two countries need to preserve, protect, cultivate and pass on to future generations.
Regarding the city’s foreign relations, Hanoi has cooperative relationships with many capitals and cities around the world, in which Hanoi always gives high priority to developing friendly cooperative relations with Cuba, with Havana and Cuban localities. "The Party, government and people of Hanoi always respect and do their best to constantly build and develop the friendship and cooperation relationship with Havana to new heights," he confirmed.
He said that Hanoi and Havana signed two cooperation memorandums in 2000 and 2005. Currently, the two capitals are exchanging to sign cooperation minutes for the new phase, focusing on the fields of health, education, culture and Party. It is expected to be signed during the visit of the Havana delegation to Hanoi in 2023.
Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee believes that the visit and work of the delegation will contribute to cultivating and deepening the friendly, cooperative relationship between the two countries in the coming time.
For her part, Ms. Teresa Maria Amarelle Boué informed of the activities of the Cuban Women's Union, as well as the purpose of the delegation's working visit to Vietnam this time.
Noting that Cuba is very interested in the role of women in all areas of life, she said that the participation of women in government at all levels is always valued, as shown in the fact that in Cuba, 55.74% of National Assembly deputies are women; and many heads of People's Councils at all levels are women.
She expressed her wish that in the coming time, Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular will continue to exchange and create favorable conditions for Cuba, especially the Cuban women's movement, to gain more experiences in developing union's work, thus contributing to socio-economic development./.
