The information was released at a press briefing on the festival held by HCMC Department of Tourism. Accordingly, a contest and a workshop on the traditional costume will be organized.

The campaign “Hello Ho Chi Minh City” launched by the local tourism sector which aims to promote the city’s image will open the festival.

The event had been rescheduled twice, in April and July, from its original date in early March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since 2014, the HCMC Ao Dai Festival has been held annually in early March. The festival aims to honour Vietnam’s traditional costume and promote HCM City’s tourism to domestic and foreign visitors.

Deputy Director of HCMC Department of Tourism Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa said that the festival has been increasingly expanding in scale and diverse content after 6 times of organization. It has become one of the most prestigious annual cultural and tourist events, attracting the attention of domestic and foreign tourists.

The unique highlight of this year’s festival will be the presence of many image ambassadors, including People's Artist Kim Xuan, Outstanding Artist Phi Dieu, Miss Universe Vietnam 2019 Nguyen Tran Khanh Van and Travel Blogger Tran Dang Anh Khoa.

The Festival Organizing Committee wishes to inspire human values and spread love for Ao Dai - an intangible cultural heritage./.
