Overseas Vietnamese supports HCMC’s hospital to fight COVID-19

Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) on September 15 received financial resources and medical supplies donated by overseas Vietnamese individuals and organizations to support medical forces on the front line of the COVID-19 fight in the city.

Accordingly, the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in HCMC handed over more than 125 million VND of the Vietnamese ladies' Ao dai charitable fund in Europe to support health workers of Cho Ray Hospital in HCMC.

In addition, under the authorization of the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in HCMC has received 3,840 N95 masks; 480 3M masks; 80 sets of medical protective clothing; and 500 face shields donated by the Vietnamese community in Sacramento in California of the US to the health workers of Cho Ray Hospital, who are on the frontline of the COVID-19 fight.

Mr. Phung Cong Dung, Chairman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in HCMC, expressed thanks and high appreciation for the hearts of the overseas Vietnamese community who have donated to promptly support the COVID-19 prevention and control activities in HCMC.

The activities not only promote the good tradition of the Vietnamese people, but also show that overseas Vietnamese, although living far away from the country, always look toward the homeland, dedicate their sentiment and heart to share, and join hands with HCMC to repel the pandemic, soon bringing the lives of the people in the city and the country back to a new normal situation./.
