Policy beneficiaries and labourers given care for Tet

Localities have joined hands to give to poor people, families and policy beneficiaries during the lunar New Year (Tet) using practical activities.

Ho Chi Minh City spends VND813 billion to give presents worth over VND1.2 million each to nearly 18,600 poor families; and presents worth VND1.1 million each to nearly 151,000 people of social sponsorship.

Nearly 145,000 cadres, officers and labourers in administrative agencies, as well as staff at the city’s SOS children’s village, will be given presents worth VND1.5 million each.

Meanwhile, 120 revolutionary contributors, elderly people, poor and ethnic minority people will be provided gifts worth VND5 million each.

The Hanoi Confederation of Labour will present 5,500 presents worth VND5.2 billion to its members, labourers and poor members’ children.

The Tuyen Quang provincial Confederation of Labour has organized 5 Tet programs in industrial zones for workers.

Trade unions in Binh Duong province have allocated free transport tickets to over 4,000 labourers returning home for Tet, an increase of 500 tickets compared to the previous year.

A similar program has been held in Phu Yen province, helping some 3,500 labourers return home for Tet.

The program will give priority to labourers affected by COVID-19 and those who contract occupational and dangerous diseases or labour accidents, as well as extremely disadvantaged families affected by natural disasters./.
