Presenting consular certificate to UK Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City

A ceremony was held by the Consular Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 22 to hand over a consular certificate to Ms. Emily Florence Hamblin, new UK Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ms. Emily is an expert in the field of business management and finance. She has completed a term working at the UK Embassy in France as a Scientific Counselor.

Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, Head of the Consular Department Vu Viet Anh congratulated the Consul General on her working term in Vietnam, especially in the context of relations between the two countries developing positively. Mr. Vu Viet Anh expressed his wish that the two countries continue to work closely on both bilateral and multilateral levels to establish direct cooperation channels between relevant agencies for mutual support and sharing experiences, and cooperation on vaccine, early control of COVID-19 pandemic to promote economic recovery and development activities.

The new Consul General thanked Vietnam for always facilitating and supporting works of UK representative missions in Vietnam, including the Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. She wished to promote the Vietnam - UK cooperation relationship in fields of economics, culture, and investment, especially on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam – UK strategic partnership.

Ms. Emily expressed her willingness to cooperate with Vietnam in disease prevention and economic recovery, especially in sharing experiences on vaccine research to prevent disease, and on the possibility of connecting flights between the two countries.

At the event, Mr. Anh affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Consular Department and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City are always ready to cooperate, coordinate and create all conditions for the Consul General to successfully complete her term in Vietnam./.
