Southern city focuses on supporting key industries

The Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee has issued and carried out support programs for enterprises and key industrial products such rubber - plastic, foodstuff, and mechanical – automation in order to develop enterprises and key industrial products of the southern hub in the 2021 – 2025 period.

The city strengthens trade promotion and market development efforts, such as organizing domestic and foreign trade promotion programs to provide information and promote products, supporting industrial products to enterprises and investors.
Local industrial enterprises will be provided with funds to conduct market surveys and join domestic and foreign trade fairs.
Attention will be paid to developing human resources for key industries, including building and implementing training programs for technicians, and researching and supporting technical development for the rubber and plastic industries.
At the same time, the hub will promote investment stimulus by incentives, supporting production, and assistance for businesses to access capital sources.
A centre for research, development and manufacturing of hi-tech molds and high precision molds to meet domestic and export demand will be established.
Additionally, a “Made by Vietnam” program will be carried out to support mechanical and automation businesses and products.
With these efforts, the local authorities expect to increase key industrial sectors’ contributions to the city’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP), and attract more capital flows from economic sectors at home and abroad./.
