During the peak days of complicated pandemic developments from July 13 until now, Mr. Truong Hanh Cong Dan, leader of Saigon Share charity group, and Mr. Duong Quang Phu, Vice President of VKBIA in the Southern region, and their members have actively supported the rapid response team to prevent and control the disease in some areas.
VKBIA and Saigon Share have donated a total of 112,500 medical masks, 9,700 N95 masks, 6,000 face shields, 3,000 pairs of medical gloves, 500 medical protective suits, 20 boxes of cough syrup to support treatment and essential supplies to prevent the SARS-Cov-2 virus for hospitals in the city as well as frontline forces.
At the same time, VKBIA and Saigon Share have directly donated and supported 2 tons of rice, 5,200 eggs, 30 boxes of instant noodles, 3 tons of Da Lat vegetables, 500kg of lemons, other food necessities and more than 600 meals for isolation, blockade areas, nursing centers, charity facilities and homeless people who are facing many difficulties due to the pandemic.
Mr. Truong Hanh Cong Dan hopes that the gifts will contribute to helping the frontline forces to feel secure to work, as well as contribute to sharing affection and encouraging people who are facing many difficulties in HCMC.
Dr. Tran Hai Linh, member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and VKBIA President, said that the program "Connecting Vietnam and Korea - Accompanying COVID-19 pandemic prevention" was organized in early 2020, when the pandemic just broke out.
“This year, right after Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh announced the decision to set up the COVID-19 vaccine fund, we quickly actively supported and mobilized the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea (RoK), the business community and Korean friends to support the fund in many different ways,” he said.
“We have also sent suggestions and plans to leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and leaders of HCMC on the pandemic prevention and control,” Mr. Linh added.
In the coming time, VKBIA will continue to mobilize domestic and foreign resources to join hands in timely support, in order to contribute to quickly repelling the COVID-19 pandemic in HCMC and the whole country./.
