Blood donation programme in HCMC attracts 4,000 people

The voluntary blood donation programme entitled Red Journey 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) has attracted the participation of 4,000 people.

The Red Journey programme will be launched in 46 provinces and cities nationwide and this is the tenth year that Ho Chi Minh City has responded to the programme.

Government Certificates of Merit presented to 12 individuals in HCMC who have donated blood for many times.

NDO cited the saying of Chairman of the HCMC Red Cross Association Tran Truong Son said that the Red Journey 2022, the tenth of its kind, is expected to receive 40,000 blood bags to meet the blood demand for emergency and treatment at hospitals throughout the city.

At the launch ceremony, the Government Certificates of Merit were presented to 12 individuals in HCMC who have consecutively donated blood over the years. Fifty-nine-year-old Ta Minh Dat is a typical blood donor who has donated blood 97 times.

On this occasion, the organising board also handed out 20 gifts to patients suffering from congenital hemolytic diseases./.
