HCM City spends over 1,200 billion VND taking care of Tet

During the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday 2023, Ho Chi Minh City took care of the material and spiritual life of all classes of people, ensuring that everyone and every family enjoy Spring and welcomed Tet.

The City People’s Committee said that the total budget for taking care of Tet is more than 1,229 billion VND, up more than 167 billion VND compared to Tet 2022. Specifically, the budget included over 16 billion VND from the central expense, over 917 billion VND from the city expense, over 17 billion VND from expenses of districts and over 277 billion VND of campaign expense.

This year, HCM City organized 43 delegations to visit former Party and State leaders, revolutionary veterans and their families; units of the armed forces, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, seriously injured soldiers, the elderly, and orphaned children due to the COVID-19 epidemic, with more than 18.69 billion VND.

The southern hub also took care of material and spiritual life for 612,167 people, including beneficiaries of meritorious policies, social policies, poor people, poor households, children with special circumstances and other subjects./.
