Ho Chi Minh City, Danish partners boost cooperation in trade and technology

On March 6, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Phan Van Mai had a meeting with Mr. Nicolai Prytz, Ambassador of Denmark to Vietnam, during his business trip to Ho Chi Minh City.

Expressing his delight at the well-developed relations between the two countries, especially at the Government level, Chairman Mai assessed that green and renewable energy strategies are not only suitable with the world's trend, but also very much needed for countries like Vietnam. From a local perspective, Ho Chi Minh City is committed to implementing the cooperation agreement signed between the two countries in the potential fields of green growth, renewable energy and efficient use of energy. He added he realized that between Denmark and Ho Chi Minh City there is still a lot of room for development cooperation, especially in the field of commerce. Therefore, the city hopes that the Danish Ambassador will pay attention to organizing trade and investment promotion and strengthen the introduction of investment cooperation, leading to specific cooperation between the two sides.
He also expressed his hope that Denmark will focus on cooperating with the city in the field of training and technology transfer, areas where Denmark has strengths. For its part, the city is committed to cooperation and is ready for cooperation programs, while the city also focuses on connecting traffic in the region to facilitate trade and the city also has many channels to solve difficulties for businesses and is always ready to create favorable conditions for Danish businesses to invest in Ho Chi Minh City.
Danish Ambassador Nicolai Prytz affirmed that in the coming time, he will do his best to contribute to further promoting the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Denmark in the fields of Denmark's strengths and Vietnam's needs, especially renewable energy, green growth and marine economy. He confirmed that Denmark will coordinate with Vietnam to expand cooperation opportunities in potential fields such as education - training, and science - technology.
He highly appreciated the position and role of the city, and said many Danish businesses are also satisfied when investing in Ho Chi Minh City. However, some businesses hope to have a channel for quick reflection when facing difficulties and problems. He also emphasized the two countries' strong commitment to sustainable development, building a circular economy and green growth, responding to climate change, as the basis for promoting the establishment of the green partnership strategy to create a new framework and direction for bilateral cooperation in the future.
In addition, in terms of trade, it is necessary to attract more Danish investors to the city, focusing on the fields of attracting high-quality labor, green energy, and renewable energy. Regarding the areas of cooperation Ho Chi Minh City is interested in, the Ambassador said he is ready to create conditions and call on investors for the two sides to strengthen exchange and trade promotion cooperation./.
