Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Truong Giang said that over the past 72 years, diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Romania have grown increasingly. Specifically, Romania has provided equipment and experts to help Vietnam develop in the fields of construction, oil and gas, healthcare, mining and railways.

Since 2019, the cooperative relationship between the two countries has developed to a new height. In 2022, many activities have been reconnected after years of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in areas of economy, education and culture.

According to Mr. Giang, over the recent years, the Vietnam - Romania Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City has always had activities to support and accompany the Romanian Embassy in Vietnam to act as a bridge and promote the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the people of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the people of Vietnam in general and the people of Romania in various, rich and practical forms.

Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam Cristina Romila said that this year, Romania celebrates the 104th anniversary of the completion of national unification and 72 years of friendly relations between Romania and Vietnam.

Over the years, Romania and Vietnam have had many dynamic political exchanges, marked by high-level contacts. The trade turnover between the two countries has continued to grow significantly in recent years, reaching USD370 million by 2021, although the level is still modest compared to the dynamic development potential of the two economies.

She expressed her hope that by the end of this year, the Government will sign the bilateral cooperation program in the field of education and training for the period 2022-2026. In the field of bilateral cultural cooperation, the highlight is the concert of the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra at the Hanoi Opera House (November 15, 2022). "This is the most important cultural event in the history of bilateral relations," she emphasized./.
