Vietnam assists Laos in COVID-19 prevention

To assist Lao cadres and soldiers in the fight against COVID-19, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence presented the Lao Ministry of National Defence cash and medical materials worth nearly VND1.5 billion.

At a ceremony to present the goods to the Lao side, on November 19 under the witness of Lao Party General Secretary and State President Bounnhang Vorachith, Major General Nguyen Quoc Dung, commander of the army corps 11, presented LAK500 million and 25 automatic antibacterial machines worth LAK4 million each.

He stressed that each machine, which can contain 50 liters of liquid, can be sprayed 12,000 times. 

Senior Lieutenant General Thongloi Silivong, Deputy Minister of the Lao Ministry of Public Security, appreciated the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security’s presents, confirming that this was evidence of the special relationship between the two countries.

On this occasion, Major General Nguyen Quoc Dung made a report on the building of the Lao National Assembly to the Lao Party General Secretary and State President, and the present of the Vietnamese Party, State and people to the Lao Party, State and people.

According to Major General Nguyen Quoc Dung, despite COVID-19, the corps has made great efforts to build beautiful and high quality construction, deserving to be the symbol of the great friendly relationship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, striving to complete the construction by February 2021.

Earlier, on November 18, Major General Nguyen Quoc Dung, represented the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence to present 25 automatic antibacterial machines to the Lao National Assembly for fighting COVID-19./.
