According to Mr. Mai, the city identified the theme for 2023 as improving the efficiency of public service activities, promoting administrative reform and improving the investment environment, promoting economic development and social security. Accordingly, the city sets specific targets such as the GRDP growth rate of 7.5% - 8%, the service sector accounting for over 60% of GRDP, completing 100% of budget revenue, and disbursing public investment of 95% or more. The city also focuses on researching and implementing basic, long-term and key solutions to ensure the city's rapid and sustainable development; ensure social security and to be ready to pilot specific mechanisms approved by the National Assembly and the Government.
In order to successfully implement the set goals, the city needs the active participation of consular agencies, international organizations, economic and cultural offices and foreign business associations. “The city looks forward to the companionship of agencies during its development process, especially in the effort to build Ho Chi Minh City into a smart city, a center of economy, finance, commerce, science - technology and the culture of the region.
He hoped that the consular offices would continue to play the role of active bridges to help promote the image of Ho Chi Minh City to international friends and help connect reliable, potential and goodwill partners to the city. The city is committed to continuing to ensure socio-political stability, administrative reform, implementing international commitments, creating favorable conditions for businesses and investors, and building a favorable, friendly and comfortable living environment for the international community.
On behalf of the consular delegations, Consul General of Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City Kho Ngee Seng Roy, Head of the Consular Delegation in Ho Chi Minh City, congratulated Ho Chi Minh City and highly appreciated its achievements in 2022. He affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City has one of the most vibrant and attractive economies in the region. With a strategic location and a strong start-up community, the city has the potential to become a regional and international financial center. Ho Chi Minh City is always the first destination for foreign companies to invest in Vietnam.
He expressed his belief that Ho Chi Minh City leaders will continue to actively work with the Consular Union and the business community through dialogue sessions to improve the investment environment and provide information about new policies in a timely manner. Not only in the field of economic development, the Consular Delegation also wishes to actively cooperate with Ho Chi Minh City in such fields as cultural and art exchange, education, public administration, health care, green economy, and digital economy./.
