Ha Tinh to further enhance cooperation with Lao localities

Ha Tinh has continued to maintain and strengthen the relationship of friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with many Lao localities, especially with Bolikhamxay, Khammouane and Savannakhet Provinces, and the capital Vientiane, according to Vo Trong Hai, Chairman of the Ha Tinh Provincial People’s Committee.

He delivered the information while being received by Lao Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh on July 5, during his working visit to Laos.

During the reception, Mr. Hai informed about some outstanding achievements in various fields of Ha Tinh over the past time, in which he emphasized that in the first 6 months of 2022, the COVID-19 pandemic was under control; the province's socio-economic development continued to advance and achieve positive results; and budget revenue was estimated at nearly VND11 trillion, up 35% over the same period last year.

Ha Tinh is currently a locality with a large number of Lao students, currently at 1,100 Lao students. Every year, the province deducts more than VND6 billion from the budget to support scholarships for Lao students.

He noted that in the coming time, Ha Tinh will continue to promote cooperation to deepen political-diplomatic relations between Ha Tinh and Laos' diplomatic representations in Vietnam, as well as with Lao localities, promoting dissemination on the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos among the people; especially the celebration of the Year of Friendship and Solidarity between Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam 2022.

Suggesting that Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh direct Lao ministries and branches to continue coordinating with the Vietnamese side to upgrade and invest in traffic routes connecting Lao provinces with Ha Tinh, he added that he wished the Lao Government to create favourable conditions for enterprises in Ha Tinh and Laos to increase exchanges, understanding and cooperation; encouraging Lao logistics enterprises to strengthen cooperation with logistics enterprises in Ha Tinh in transporting and exporting goods.

Expressing his pleasure to welcome Mr. Hai and the delegation from Ha Tinh to visit and work in Laos, Lao Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh thanked Ha Tinh for its sincere and precious affection for Lao people, saying he believed that visit will make an important contribution to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, the two States and the peoples.

He congratulated Ha Tinh on the results achieved in socio-economic development as well as in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic over the past time; and highly appreciated the role of Ha Tinh in cooperating and helping Laos' localities in many fields such as training, human resource development, infrastructure development, and pandemic prevention and control./.
