Hanoi and German capitals promote cooperation in strong areas

On November 28, the delegation paid a courtesy visit and worked with Mr. Michael Biel, State Secretary of the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy, and representative of the Berlin city government. During which, the two sides expressed their pleasure at the development in the friendly cooperation relationship between the two cities of Hanoi - Berlin in general and the local cooperation projects between Hoang Mai - Marzahn district and Hoan Kiem - Lichtenberg district. They agreed to promote exchanges and cooperation in areas of mutual interest and strength of Berlin, such as economy - trade, education - training, health care and tourism.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Tuyen said that in the coming time, Hanoi capital hopes to continue to receive cooperation with Berlin to promote investment and trade, connect the business communities of the two sides, promote opportunities and potential for cooperation and support businesses looking for opportunities for cooperation and business investment.

Regarding education, she suggested the two sides consider promoting cooperation programs to promote support for scholarships and short-term training courses for pupils and students. Hanoi has the opportunity to access modern German education.

Regarding trade, she suggested Berlin consider supporting Hanoi's small and medium enterprises to take advantage of the Vietnam - European Union Free Trade Agreement to access the European and German markets and promote the export of Hanoi's strong products such as rice, textiles and footwear. Also, as tourism is also a potential field between the two sides, it is necessary to promote expanded cooperation in the near future.

In addition, she expressed her hope that the Berlin city government will continue to pay attention to, support and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Germany to do business, live stably, and contribute to the socio-economic development of Germany as well as the relations between the two countries.

Mr. Michael Biel affirmed, Berlin always attaches importance to maintaining and expanding friendship and cooperation relations with Hanoi city in various fields. He also expressed his belief that this visit of the high-ranking delegation of Hanoi city will open up new cooperation opportunities, promote practical and effective development in all fields and in relations between the authorities and people of the two localities Hanoi - Berlin in particular, and deepening the strategic partnership between Vietnam - Germany in general.

Following the working program, the delegation met and discussed with leaders of the German Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (BVMW) promoting economic - trade cooperation.
