On November 29, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh received Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director in Vietnam Andrew Jeffries.

During the reception, Mr. Andrew Jeffries expressed his pleasure that ADB contributed to the development of the city's infrastructure as well as other development goals of Hanoi during its 30 years of operation in Vietnam. Currently, the ADB office in Vietnam is supporting Hanoi in the implementation of Nhon - Hanoi Station Railway Project and Urban Railway Project No. 3. Within the framework of this visit, ADB introduced a new and promising project for Hanoi - the Constructed City Project.

According to Mr. Andrew Jeffries, the goal of the project is to optimize infrastructure, urban services and transport to contribute to the further development of the city. At the same time, the ADB side wishes to have the city leaders share about the requirements as well as related technical solutions.

According to Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, as Hanoi is focusing on infrastructure development, it is in need of capital resources as well as consulting and connecting experts from partners. In that context, the support of capital and advice from partners such as ADB on the bridge system across the Red River and other infrastructure recently played a very important role.

He suggested that ADB continue to support and coordinate with related units to strengthen the dissemination of information so that all levels and sectors understand clearly the contents and purposes of public-private cooperation, through which, Hanoi can apply and implement the cooperation in the Ring Road 4, connect with a team of consultants on the revised Capital Law, striving for Hanoi to join the bond market in the future./.
