He made the statement on June 13 during his reception for outgoing Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Robyn Mudie.

At the reception, Mr. Dung congratulated Ambassador Robyn Mudie on receiving the Friendship Medal, a noble award from the State of Vietnam, for the Ambassador's efforts and positive and effective contributions for the development of the friendship and strategic partnership between Vietnam and Australia, which is increasingly deepening, substantive and effective.

He also thanked the Australian Government for timely support of Vietnam in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in providing vaccines and thereby helping Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular successfully control the disease and gradually recover from the pandemic. “So far, all activities of the city have basically returned to normal,” he said.

Ambassador Robyn Mudie expressed her pride during the time she held the position of Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, especially when she witnessed the achievements of the relationship between the two countries over the past 3 years, particularly in Australia's support and funding for COVID-19 prevention and control as well as post-pandemic recovery for Vietnam - an important partner in Southeast Asia.

She said that the strategy for strengthening economic cooperation between Vietnam and Australia aims to bring the two countries into the top 10 of each other's trading partners with investment between the two countries having been doubled. This will open many cooperation opportunities between Australia and Vietnam as well as with the capital Hanoi from the fields of education, agricultural development and energy to the digital economy.

Ambassador Robyn Mudie affirmed that she would continue to contribute to the stronger development of the relationship between the two countries in the coming years. At the same time, she said that the strategy to strengthen economic cooperation between Vietnam and Australia is very suitable for Hanoi's development orientation in the coming years./.
